What inspired you to get into food photography? What led to your interest in food and travel?

I am passionate about food! I guess it runs in the family. I consider it as an artform: from the preparation of the ingredients to how it is plated in the dining table. I have a penchant to travel and discover new places as well as indulge in the familiarity of my favorites that i keep coming back to.

Do you think instagramming food, which seems to be the norm nowadays, has changed our generation’s perception of food?

I believe that food is meant to be enjoyed. I take photos and upload it on Instagram to share with others my perception of the dish, or the story behind it. I believe that this generation, our generation thrives on visual stimulation. We look for visual cues to guide us in our choices, even when it comes to food.

Can you give our readers three tips on how to take great food photos?

Get good lighting. Lighting will help you take good, crisp pictures. I love using natural light.

Don’t be afraid to post-process your photo. Sometimes, filters bring out features of the food that your typical lens wont be able to give you. Just don’t overdo it.

Enjoy! Your photos convey your feelings. Spread the positivity and the love!
