Come Valentine’s Day, expect impossible traffic jams and extremely crowded restaurants. For your sanity, plan in advance. February is almost here, and before you know it, Valentine’s will be as well. If you’ve run dry of unique things to do for this year, why not shake things up  a bit?

Forego the VDay norm of wining and dining your significant other and don’t heed your bitter friends’ advice to “Get a room.” Instead, go outside, get some fresh air, and enjoy each other’s company. Beyond just taking a new scenery, there are health benefits to doing physical activities together. “When a couple works out together, the actual exercise itself can physically and emotionally have a positive impact,” said leading relationship psychotherapist Dr. Jane Greer. Here are some ideas to get you out of the door on Valentine’s Day:

1| Watch hot air balloons fly.

Love will literally be in the air at the 19th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, which will be held at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga from February 12-15. A Valentine concert featuring Aiza Seguerra will happen on the 14th.

 

 

2| Enjoy romantic movies under the stars.

Hold a picnic and watch a movie under the stars at NuCinema’s “Romantic Reels” event on February 14.

 

 

3| Stroll around a park.
